Mwathi co-founded the company at a young age when he was a college student working on his project. The project was a POS system to help restaurants shift from a paper-based order collection system to a fully automated system that would help them convert better and understand their stock control more efficiently. Upon completion, he and the co-founder approached tenants of a local mall to have them use the software and managed to get a manager of a chain of restaurants to buy into the idea. “After long nights and on the ground grinding to bootstrap the product, we realized that we could do this and make some money as we attended school,” says Mwathi.
Fast forward a couple of years and projects later, as better programmers and more business-oriented minds, the duo made the decision to legitimize their operations; that’s when the story of FluidTech Global begun, as other great minds with similar ambitions joined the ship.

Among various success stories of FluidTech Global is that of Daktari Africa, a SaaS product that provides easy, mobile access to medical care as a trusted partner. The client was facing a problem with the video consultation feature that was very mission-critical and had a huge impact on the platform’s inherent selling-point. FluidTech Global helped restore the feature for doctors and patients, future-proof it from any scaling issues that may arise in the near future, and ensure that doctor-patient interaction is as seamless, friction-free, and confidential as possible.
